I’ve still used the case fine, likely the bass just hit it in shipment at one time. The exterior of the case is in good shape, the Interior has had where the neck supports the bass ( the pocket area )be broken partially loose from place if you zoom into the interior case photo you can see separation to the left of the upper horn. The first NS-1 bass was handcrafted in March 1977. Does anyone know what the sequence of numbers for a Spector bass signifies The result was the NS bass guitar with an elegant ergonomically curved design and the neck thru body construction that Spector was already utilizing.

This bass weighs just about right at 8 lbs, balances great and is 34" scale I just bought a Spector bass on eBay and the serial number is 8503. Dunlop Strap Lock Pins installed, buttons not included, currently strung with unidentified round-wound strings in need of change Squared-off locking bridge, Spector engraved neck-thru body, rosewood fretboard with white fret markers classic EMG P/J pickups, Geezers installed, originals included

They also told me the geezer pickups are passive and that they thought the originals sounded better and more balanced with the pre. I have only owned the bass as it currently sits so i never was able to play it with the original pickups or test them, they will be shipped inside the case interior pocket.The original owner did tell me though that they were removed working. Also, the Indonesian factory did not use serials from its opening in 1992 until around 2000. Samick branded models did not start using serials until around 1987. The original active EMG pickups are included, they are in the interior case pocket. Note 2: Guitars with no serial number were produced at many different times. The neck feels a little more matte then the glossy body and i suspect someone knocked the gloss down on the back of the neck at one point, feels good but I assume it could be buffed glossier.Ĭurrently it has EMG Geezer pickups installed with the stock K- Haz preamp, these are not the stock pickups but a recent set from a few years back. It has very small marks if you really look in a few places but none photographable it’s a very clean bass considering it’s over 30 years old. The frets are in great shape, white paint is starting to yellow, but no major dings. I was told these were mostly Korean made but that some were made in Japan, i marked it as made in Korea.

But you can tell by the pics that it is a legit bass. There is no serial number on the headstock or in the electronics cavity. The previous owner stated that this bass was constructed between 19, before Spector/Kramer started putting serial numbers on the NS-2As.
